I am a person in long-term recovery from opioid use disorder, a journey that began tragically with the loss of my beloved brother, Clifford Rhodes, on November 4, 2016. His untimely passing became the catalyst for my own path to recovery.
To honor Clifford's memory and to support others battling substance use disorder, I founded Open Rhodes 2 Recovery (OR2R), Somerset County's first 501(c)(3) non-profit Recovery Community Organization. Our center is a sanctuary of hope, support, and love—for individuals in recovery. By sharing our lived experiences, we aim to provide essential resources, build recovery capital, and demonstrate the unwavering love and support needed to heal from this devastating illness.
Allison Ibinson, MSW, LSW, CPSS. is a Licensed Social Worker in the States of Pennsylvania and Maryland. Allison has been working in the mental health field since 2019 and enjoys working with individuals with high acuity needs such as severe and persistent mental illness and her new found passion working with those who have substance use disorder. As a social worker, Allison acts as an advocate for all individuals to ensure they are receiving the treatment and services they need to be the best version of themselves. Allison identifies with the recovery community through the family lens and is excited to share her personal expertise with those who utilize OR2R and their families. “Open Rhodes 2 Recovery allows me to feel a sense of purpose when I can develop a relationship with those in the recovery community and help them obtain resources and help them obtain a life worth living outside of active addiction. I enjoy being a smiling face for those who come to the center and need love and support.”
